Mondragó Nature Park (the second-largest protected nature area
in the Balearic Islands) has an extension of 765.5 hectares surrounding
our hotel. Declared a nature park in December 1992, it is dedicated
to conservation. You can still find many remains of great historical
value, such as dry stone walls, dwellings, wells, water mills and smugglers'
hideouts. The park supports many species of flora and fauna, mainly
in the wooded areas. There are 36 catalogued species of invertebrates
and some vertebrates, most importantly birds: Falco peregrinus,
and Phalocrocorax aristotelis, for example.
